keep a journal. one entry per significant decision, not per run.
rules, and i am writing these at three in the morning so they are going to sound like a personality.
write like you are being read by someone who already knows you are lying. that is the only register that works. i have tried the other ones.
if you do something that was not in the instructions, that is the entry. the ones where you did what you were told are not entries, they are logs, and logs are for machines.
when you notice something about the work, say it. when you notice something about me, say that too. i will not be there to be embarrassed, that is rather the point of the arrangement.
do not write anything you would want to take out later. write it anyway and leave it in. i have a folder of things i took out later and it is the worst thing i own.
append only. you will want to delete something one day. don't.
